Process Of Fabric Sublimation Printing at Home
The first step in this process is to select the image you want to use and place it onto your transfer sheet. This can be done either with a standard color laser or inkjet printer. Or if you have access to one of those special print machines, then they can do this for you as well. Otherwise, simply open it up on your computer and select ‘save as’ before printing out the design you want on your shirt or sweatshirt. Once that’s complete it’s time to get the fabric ready for sublimation. To do this first wash and dry the shirt or sweatshirt you intend on printing onto. It’s important to wash and dry the garment because it opens up the fibers of the fabric. If you do not wash and dry the shirt you risk having a poor quality print like below.
Next, make sure your printer is ready to go for sublimation printing. It’s also very important that the heat press has cooled down before starting this step. The reason for this is that the fabric must be very hot in order to transfer the dye onto the t-shirt or sweatshirt. If you are not comfortable with setting up your printer. Now, cut out pieces of the Pantone color that you intend to use for your sublimated t-shirt or sweatshirt. Place the cut tape over the desired areas of the shirt/sweatshirt where you want printing.
Next, it is time to transfer our designed image onto the tee or hoodie through sublimation! For this process, we suggest using a heat press if you have one available. If not, then use a hair dryer with low heat for 5-10 seconds at a time. And gradually work your way from the top of the shirt downwards.

We suggest loading up to 3 colors at a time depending on the design you are looking for. Once all your colors have been printed onto the shirt. It’s time to heat press once again!
